Gather a team of your co-workers, family or friends and see how you fare amongst the competition. Teams of five (plus an Imua steersperson) will race in crews of Men, Women or Coed.
All participants will race at least twice on a 200-meter course.
Practice Day
Pre-registered crews that would like to practice in the canoes before
race day can attend a practice session on Sunday, July 20th from 12:00
pm to 4:00 p.m. at North Star Beach in Newport Beach (next to Newport
Aquatic Center). Bring a towel and wear workout clothing that can
get wet; sandals or beach shoes are advised. Not registered? Bring
your racing form and payment and register today!
Race Day
On race day, be prepared for a fun day at the beach. Bring water, sunscreen, beach chairs, towels/blankets, and your friends and family to cheer you on! Registration begins at 7:30. All paddlers should plan to arrive at the Dunes no later than 8 a.m. Races begin at 8:30 a.m.!!! After all team members check in at the registration desk, you will be provided with T-shirts, lunch tickets and race information. Parking is paid to the Newport Dunes Resort and is $10 per car. Carpooling is recommended!
